What’s Your Wine Match?

2 MIT grads built an algorithm that uses a 7 question quiz to pair people with wine that they’ll like.

Okay, let’s give it a try over at BrightCellars. [If you use my link to try, you’ll get a $50 credit on your first order.] I went ahead an answered the easy to review and click, 7 question quiz. I did struggle with, “what’s your go-to drink?” I have multiple. It really depends. So I imagine, my wine tastes would as well. Maybe I will go back to the quiz, if it lets me, and take the quiz noting the results based on some of my drink responses. There might have been another option, but I don’t know if I want to do that many more iterations of the quiz results.

My results:

  • Mojave Rain Pinot Noir 2016
  • Cactus Park ‘Blackburn’s Belle’ Merlot 2017
  • Kalypto Shiraz 2018
  • Life in the Woods Moscato 2017

So far, they all sound right up my alley. Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Shiraz. The Moscato? I have yet to find a Moscato that I like. The site does provide an option for an alternate, but I decided to see how this goes and how well this algorithm does match my preferences. Each bottle was priced at $20, and from the sounds of it, it seems to be a subscription service. I already have a wine subscription service, but I have to admit, this “MIT student algorithm” marketing hooked me in. At least for this trial. Besides, my birthday is around the corner, and I’ll want some wines anyway for the occassion anyway.
